Have you ever heard of kindred spirits?
That's us.
We're Heather "Ez" Pudewa of Creature Comforts and Holly Becker of decor8 - two passionate, prolific bloggers and friends who live thousands of miles apart and have never met in person but we share many of the same dreams and passions. We're willing to bet you're sensing a certain connection to us too (that may be why you're reading this). Whether you read our blogs or follow our work elsewhere we're all one of the same which makes us all kindred spirits. We appreciate the details, the pretty things others seem to overlook, art, design, and the art of living -- something as mundane as weeding a flower bed feels so inviting and pleasurable to us. We're sensitive, we want to help others, we're girly girls, and if given the option between a cruise or a artists' retreat we'd take painting and connecting with others above partying and the wild life. Animals, entertaining at home, good tunes, cuddling those whom we love... to us it's about making the most of the often overlooked little things. No doubt you feel exactly the same way. It's amazing how we meet and connect to others online, sometimes replacing missing connections in our daily life with newfound friends we've never met face-to-face. No doubt many of you have your own kindred spirits online, those who encourage, share, motivate, comfort... Kindred is a mini celebration of such friendships formed inside the delicate and vast online web.
What's Kindred all about? We're keeping things simple with our first and current project called, "Wallpapered Together.” Through this project we hope to:
* Bring a seasonally curated selection of complementary art and photography to your desktop on a quarterly basis.
* Show our ongoing support of the independent online community by sharing the work of a small group of accomplished and budding talents per quarter (at no charge to the artists or fans). Yes, there really is such a thing as getting something for nothing!
* Share some of our favorite talents with the many readers and friends we've made online over the years - a little way of saying thanks to the readers of our individual blogs.
The artists participating in each seasonal lineup of wallpaper are asked to create around a theme that we assign to them. We hope that the desktop wallpapers our artists have designed for you will invigorate and inspire you. Enjoy!
